SAFE BUILDINGS AND ALTERNATE METHODS

Kentucky's building officials work hard to make sure that new construction and renovations are done to safety standards found in the Kentucky Building Code, the Kentucky Residential Code, the Kentucky Plumbing Code and all the standards they reference.  Everyone want to make sure our homes, offices, stores and churches are built to high safety standards.

But sometimes building officials can be inflexible.  The Kentucky Building Code allows alternate methods of construction to be used if you can demonstrate that it would be equally safe.  These alternate methods are often much more cost-effective and efficient while retaining all the required safety factors. If you need help convincing your local building official or the state's Division of Building Code Enforcement to approve an alternate construction method, Contact Me.
UPDATING THE CODE

Kentucky's Building Codes  are constantly changing, growing and being updated.  As new construction methods and materials are introduced and new problems are discovered, the Building Code, Residential Code and Plumbing Code are regularly updated.

In my years of representing the boards and committees that approve updates to the codes, I became very familiar with the code change/new product approval process.  So if you think Kentucky's building codes need an update, I can help.  Contact me.
